About YesNutritionWorks!
Our Philosophy
Our mission is simple.
YesNutritionWorks! exists to provide
reassuring and professional support to individuals interested in
working towards good health. Our work is to educate and empower
people to achieve their health goals and life aims.

Focus and Motivation
We see the nutrition health sector poised at an
exciting stage of transition.
It has grown tremendously over the past few years,
as people have become curious and motivated about the benefits it
can offer. We believe the upward trend of personal investment in
health can only develop further as the industry itself moves from
strength to strength.

Quality Information
We passionately believe that knowledge is power.
The development
of YesNutritionWorks! is the result of experience
gained as fully qualified and registered Nutrition Consultants.
Admittedly, our website has more technical information than most.
From working with professional well-informed people, however, we
have been told that they want the choice of having all the facts
available.
When people fully understand why they are being
advised to eat a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables every day,
and what damage some foods can do to the body (such as sugar, for
example), compliance is forthcoming. Our clients want to make
informed choices. Backed by volumes of experience, the information
given is highly practical and proven to be effective.

Fast-Track Changes
The path to achieving optimal health has never
been faster.
Our individualized
Reach Your Peak™ Health
Profiles provide a fast-track way of effecting attitude change,
developing life style skills and improving self-efficacy. We guide
and support our clients through the necessary changes to their
lifestyle. It is never easy, but with good support and management,
we know that the vast majority will benefit from following our
advice and find themselves able sustain the motivation to move to
an optimal level of health.

Our Doctor
Dr. Brian McDonogh MBChB, BMedSci, T(GP),
MScNutrMed
Dr. Brian McDonogh is a medical
practitioner with a special interest in Nutritional Medicine. He
has two Medical degrees (MBChB and BMedSci) from Pretoria, South
Africa, as well as a Masters degree in Nutritional Medicine (MScNutrMed)
from the University of Surrey in Guildford, United Kingdom, where
he attained a distinction for his dissertation on the role of
nutrition in the causes and treatment of Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
He worked as a General Practitioner for 18 years
until 2001, when he dedicated his time more fully to promoting the
principles of nutritional medicine. He is more interested in
identifying the root cause of a medical problem than simply
suppressing symptoms with the use of medication. Dr. McDonogh is
available for consultation on other health issues in addition to
all topics presented on our website.

Our Nutritional Consultants
Lynette Ellison
Lynette discovered that optimum nutrition brought
the answers to her own questions about living with Rheumatoid
Arthritis. Now a trained nutritionist and a Master Practitioner
of NLP, she finds that an ever-growing number of her clients are
being diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Chronic Fatigue or
Post-Viral Fatigue Syndrome. And there are others who are just as
ill but have received no diagnosis for their condition.
She is also interested in many other health
problems for which nutritional therapy so often holds the key. Her
understanding of illness and related stress, and her practical
approach to recovery, has enabled many to be restored to a full
and healthy life.
Like all the nutritionists working with her, Lynette trained at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition in London, England, for three years, and went on to qualify at the Raworth Centre, a college for Sports Therapy and Natural Medicine. She is registered with the International Guild of Professional Practitioners. Lynette has a busy practice undertaking nutritional consultations in person, by postal mail (correspondence) and via the Internet. She also facilitates workshops and lectures on Nutrition related issues.
Leanne Reid
Leanne has always held an interest in Health and
Natural Therapies, growing up in a family that values a healthy
diet and exercise, and carries a strong belief that diet is a
major key in the prevention of illness. After training as a
Registered Nurse in London, her belief in "alternative therapies"
grew, through the practice of conventional medicine.
Leanne completed the Nutrition Consultants Diploma
Course at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition in London. During
her training and after graduation, she worked in a Nutritional
Medicine Testing Laboratory and Practice, gaining much needed
experience. Leanne had a private practice in South London for 3
years, treating people with a wide variety of symptoms, as well as
researching various aspects of Nutrition, The Immune System and
HIV/AIDS.
Leaving London for Central America, she worked
with a Nicaraguan Non-Governmental Organization for six months,
called Community Movement, and was based in preschool
centers and in a center for working children. Assessing the
children for signs of nutritional deficiency, she improved the
standard of food provided. Nutritional supplementation was
monetarily out of the question, so all of the achievements
obtained were by diet alone.
Leanne now lives in her home country of Australia,
where she runs a private practice.
Joy Healey
Joy's background is in the computer industry, where high stress, long hours and poor diet eventually started to take its toll on her health - mainly manifested as crippling migraines every weekend. A friend with an interest in nutrition and supplements suggested some diet and lifestyle changes that, when adopted, amazed her with the improvement in the way she felt.
Joy was sufficiently impressed by this to decide on a complete career change and studied for three years at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition in London.
Since qualifying she has built up a private practice in North West London - giving nutritional advice face-to-face or by post. She is a full member of the Guild of Complementary Practitioners. Her specialist subjects are migraine, stress and infertility.
Joy is a full member of the Guild of Healthwriters. She is the sub-editor for, and regular contributor to, the peer-reviewed 'Nutrition Practitioner' journal, which keeps a wide variety of health professionals up-to-date with the vast body of scientific evidence regularly emerging in support of a nutritional approach to improving well-being. Joy also edits the monthly YesNutritionWorks ezine.
